The architect Emanuel von Seidl designed around his villa a large green areas: today's Seidl Park. It captivates with its stock of old, tall trees, a pond covered with water lilies and a few monuments reminiscent of a bygone era: Munich's celebrities frequented Seidl's farmhouse. Festivals were celebrated both in the house and on the green grounds. The performance of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" under the open sky and directed by Max Reinhardt was one of many highlights.

The municipality Murnau acquired the park. Since then, the Förderkreis Murnauer Parklandschaft e.V. has set itself the task of preserving it and restoring it to its original state: including the Hirschenplatz and the Friendship Hill, Emanuel von Seidl's favorite places.
