Buitenplaats Broekbergen is part of the ribbon of historic country estates that are located along the Stichtse Lustwarande. The main house was built in the middle of the eighteenth century. In the last quarter of the nineteenth century, the country estate was converted into a walled monastery complex. The main house, the tower and the perimeter wall have been designated as a national monument. The garden and park layout, chapel hall and public house are also historically valuable. Broekbergen falls under the Natural Beauty Act in the category of 'historic country estates'.
