The end products of a pitch oven were distillation products from the wood, such as wood vinegar, pine oil, wood tar and light and heavy pitches.
These products were produced one after the other at a temperature of up to around 400 degrees Celsius. The work process lasted several days. In addition, high-quality charcoal was obtained.
