Asama Taisha Shrine is revered for its divine virtue of quelling the eruption of Mount Fuji, and as faith in Mount Fuji spread, it came to be known as the head shrine of over 1,300 Sengen shrines enshrined throughout the country.

Hiking
The temple is an absolute must if you are in the area. Unlike all the other temples we have visited so far, you can find peace and relaxation here, despite the huge complex in the middle of the city.
