The Blößenstein is a red gneiss rock that is barely visible from the path. The "entrance" is reminiscent of an old quarry. After all, the "Purschenstein Amethyst" is said to have been mined in the area around Bad Einsiedel, where we are, around 1700. But there is also said to have been a serpentine stone deposit. At 787 m above sea level, the Blößenstein is the same height as the Schwartenberg. The forest only allows a view to the west towards the Schwartenberg.
