The Wangermeer is an approx. 100 ha large recreational lake on the northern outskirts of Hohenkirchen (municipality of Wangerland). In the lake there is a 14 hectare round island. A 325 m long wooden bridge for pedestrians and cyclists was built to connect the round island and the NLG building area to Hohenkirchen. Platforms and places to stay invite you to linger on the bridge and turn the structure into a promenade bridge that is suitable for tourist use.
