If you walk up the small road just a few hundred meters (don't worry, it's not as dangerous as it first looks), you'll come right to the beginning of the viaduct. Here you can take wonderful photos of the viaduct from above and the trams driving past!

Hiking
The Arcos da Lapa was formerly an aqueduct. From 1896 onward, the aqueduct was used as a viaduct for the new iron trams of the Companhia de Carris Urbanos, which remain the main means of access from the city center to the heights of the Santa Teresa district.
