Charles Borromeo (1538-1584) was a 16th-century Italian bishop, Archbishop of Milan and Cardinal of the Catholic Church. A great architect in his diocese of the Catholic Reformation desired by the Council of Trent, he is considered a model of a post-Tridentine bishop.
