Rowy (German: Rowe; Kashubian Rowë) is a village in Upper Pomerania, at the mouth of the Lupow in the Baltic Sea, on a narrow promontory between Lake Garder and the Baltic Sea, 22 kilometres northeast of Stolpmünde and 27 kilometres north of Stolp.

In old documents, the place appears in 1282 as Rou, in 1493 as Roff and also Row. There was a grote Rowe and a lütken Roff. According to the historical village form, the former Rowe was a clustered village. In 1350, the knight of Bartowitz was enfeoffed with the herring fishing in Rowe. In 1493 there was a von Bandemer owner and from 1553 a von Schwave. After that, Rowe came to the royal villages, which were under the Amt of Stolp, and later to the royal office in Schmolsin. There was also a noble part.

By 1782, Rowe had a preacher, a sexton, and 24 royal subjects in a total of 38 households. [3] In 1908/10, Noble Rowe (1895: 85 inhabitants) and Royal Rowe (1895: 171 inhabitants) were merged into Rowe.

At the beginning of the 1930s, the rural community in Rowe had an area of 6.7 km². Within the municipal boundaries there were a total of 53 inhabited dwellings at two different dwellings:

Around 1935, Rowe had, among other things, an inn, a general store, a blacksmith's shop, four carpenter's shops and a cattle store. In 1910, 249 inhabitants lived here. Their number rose to 277 by 1933 and was still 264 in 1939.

Until 1945, Rowe formed a rural community in the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania of the German Reich. The municipality of Rowe, together with the village of Klein Rowe, belonged to the district of Wobesde in the district court area of Stolp.

On March 9, 1945, Rowe was occupied by Soviet troops without a fight. In the autumn of 1945, the Poles arrived, including the Polish military; the Polonized place name 'Rowy' was introduced. The expulsion of the local villagers by the Polish administrative authority began. In 1947, three transports went west with the use of police forces. In 1957 there were still some German fishermen in the village who were allowed to stay.

The village is now part of the administrative district of Gmina Ustka, within Słupsk County, Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975–1998 Słupsk Voivodeship). Today, more than three hundred people live in the village. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rowy_(Ustka)
