On the heights between Trittenheim and Klüsserath the path leads with a marvelous view into the Moselle valley at the "Eselstrapp", also called "Hinkelstein". Here, according to legend, a maiden riding a mule saved herself by jumping into the valley in front of her pursuer. And the hoofprint of the mount can still be seen on a large (Hinkel) stone, a Celtic menhir.
