The Ismaninger reservoir is a reservoir in Bavaria.
It is located northeast of Munich between Ismaning and Neufinsing.
Even if it is named after the town of Ismaning at the beginning of the lake, it only touches their municipality and is located in the area of the municipalities of Aschheim, Kirchheim bei München, Pliening and Finsing.
The lake, created in 1929, is located directly on the north bank of the Mittlere-Isar Canal.
In addition to regulating the water in the power plants on the Isar Canal and providing protection against flooding, the lake also provides a natural secondary treatment for Munich's wastewater.(Source: Wikipedia)
