    Hiking

Pierre Loti Hill is located in Eyüp, one of Istanbul's most striking neighborhoods, and is named after a French officer and writer. Julien Viaud settled in Istanbul in 1876 and frequented a coffeehouse here to write his novels. He later changed his name to Pierre Loti, and this hill was named after him. The city government has tried several times to rename the hill, but to no avail.
