The Żurawiowe strict protection area in the Kampinos National Park was created in 1977. Its name comes from the cranes that nest here. In addition to cranes, there are also moose, beaver, black stork and lesser spotted eagle. The reserve is covered with alder riparian forests, alders, moist and high oak-hornbeam forests, sedge beds, and on the outskirts there are fragments of mixed and moist coniferous forest.
