IT IS NOT THE REMNANT OF A CHURCH TOWER!
The bell tower was originally part of the school building built in 1914 (see BKM no. 30900049). Around 1990, the bell tower was removed and then, under pressure from the municipality, erected at the eastern entrance to the town on the service road to the Nochten open-cast mine. The bell chamber was raised for this purpose. The weather vane bears the date, which indicates that it was built in 1914.
