adventurous connecting route if you "got lost" on the track between Birlik and Akmuz, as this gravel road (09/2024) is a horror: a lot of traffic and brutal dust. We definitely didn't want to continue to Akmuz like this and looked for an alternative on our GPS and found it here: our route includes an easy stream crossing; after that it goes over a wild but fun and beautiful "multi-track track" with no recognizable road (which is marked as a yellow road on our GPS map); short passage on foot through a dried-out little canyon before you get to a good double-track track that then leads up to the main road to Naryn. In any case, the landscape is beautiful and completely deserted; with a lot of fantastic camping options.
