The Saint Nicholas Oak grows at a distance from the main road and can be overlooked, especially since the ruins of the church attract attention, while the oak grows on the opposite side of the road - behind the Firefighter's House (OSP Tarnawa Górna). To get there from Zagórze, turn right at the church ruins into the street in front of the club-café.

Today we took a closer look at this tree. It must have grown far away from other trees, because it grew wider than tall. We have something to compare it to, because we saw many old oaks in the castle park in Dubiecko.
On the opposite side of the trunk, an unpleasant surprise awaited us - the trunk is very hollow and unprotected. This does not bode well for the future of this tree. Where else have we seen such hollows filled with concrete or assembly foam. Why did the nature conservator not take protective measures here?
