Formerly, the tower served to guard against the danger of piracy and, after its destruction, it has been reformed on several occasions. The space also has a restaurant with typical Catalan cuisine.

It stands out, among other reasons, for being the lighthouse that is located furthest to the east of the Iberian Peninsula.
Currently, the lighthouse has an information office for visitors to the Cap de Creus area. Right next door we also find a restaurant to enjoy the local cuisine.
