The railway line connected Brežice and Rogatec. Both towns are in Slovenia, but the line crossed the Slovenian-Croatian border fifteen times, which led to its abandonment after the dissolution of Yugoslavia. The line also never met economic expectations, as it was primarily built as a political project – it passed by the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito.
