The Porto Canale Leonardesco in Cesenatico is a historic canal that was dug in the 14th century. In 1502 Leonardo da Vinci made designs for improvements to the canal, although these were never carried out. The canal is the heart of the historic centre of Cesenatico and is surrounded by important monuments such as the Piazza Pisacane and the Museo della Marineria. The canal is a popular venue for events and social activities.
