Shelly Beach sits along the Esplanade in Torquay and is a calm, sheltered stretch of sand named for the shells that wash up along its shore. It’s a favourite spot for swimmers and families thanks to its regular depth and gentle conditions, and it’s also the only section of Hervey Bay’s beaches patrolled by surf lifesavers. It’s an ideal spot to take a break, walk along the sand, and dip your toes in the water before continuing along the path.
