The oldest part of the church originally dedicated to Saint John the Baptist is the 14th-century tower, which features the typical features of the simple village Scheldegotik. A northern aisle was added to the nave during the 15th century. In 1848 the church was severely damaged by fire. In the course of the restoration, the main and side aisles were brought under one roof and the remains of the choir were broken off. On the north side there is a portal from the 15th century. The Johannes Patrozinium was lost during the Reformation (Wikipedia).
