A beautiful and unexpected waterfall in the middle of the forest: the Zara stream plunges several meters (15?) into a funnel of rock shaped by the water, cascading into a natural basin, and then continues with a series of drops until reaching another equally tall waterfall (which can be found along the main Val Laghetto trail). Because of its similarity, the waterfall was given the name 'caliera': a large pot, usually made of copper, used in northern Italy to make polenta.
It is very hidden, and to reach it from Val Laghetto, you must take a detour that crosses the stream and enters the secondary Val Scura, in a wild and isolated environment. After a challenging climb, you descend to the waterfall on a short, steep and slippery section, facilitated by steps and a metal rope. The trail is definitely EE, but always well marked with red dots. It's worth visiting after periods of rain, to avoid the risk of finding it dry.
