The church was built in 1785. In 1888, a tall, ornate tower was added, which gave the church its current appearance. After World War II, the church was not used, for a time it served as a warehouse. It was not until the 1980s that it was taken over by the Roman Catholic Church, renovated, and masses began to be held there.
