The church of San Bartolomeo in Faenza is one of the oldest churches in the city, dating back to the early 13th century. The building still preserves parts of the original structure. After the First World War, the church was restored and dedicated to the Fallen of All Wars. The church is an important example of the almost standardized Romanesque architecture of the 12th and 13th centuries. The exact date of foundation, 1209, is known thanks to an ancient inscription. The restorations after the war led to a major renovation of the facade and other parts, recognizable by the lighter color and smoother surface of the bricks. Today, the building, surrounded by some beautiful trees, is a Temple to the Fallen of All Wars.
