The cycle path network around Lake Balaton is one of the best developed and most popular in Central Europe. The core of the network is the Balatoni Bringakör (Balaton Cycle Ring), which encircles the entire lake. In recent years, significant investments have been made in quality. Many sections (e.g., near Tihany or Balatonalmádi) have been completely re-asphalted. A large part of the route is car-free or leads along low-traffic side roads. Critical points, such as railway crossings, have been made safer with modern overpasses. Along the route, there are numerous bike rentals, e-bike charging stations, and specialized cyclist accommodations.
