The Peterbaude is located at an altitude of 1288 meters above sea level and belongs to Špindlerův Mlýn (Spindlermühle).
1790: First mention of a summer pasture belonging to the Pittermann family at this location.
1811: Johann Pittermann built a mountain hut in place of the pasture that could be inhabited all year round, which later became known as the Peterbaude.
1844: The hut was sold to Johann Zinecker, who expanded it and set up guest rooms.
1886–1887: Under Vinzenz Zinecker, a new four-story mountain hotel with modern amenities was built, making the Peterbaude a popular destination for tourists.
1901: Another guest house with 44 rooms was built, significantly increasing the capacity of the hut.
1925–1929: The hut was expanded to include a third guest house and a viewing terrace. August 1, 2011: A devastating fire completely destroyed the historic Peterbaude. The cause of the fire was arson.
Reopening in 2020.

The Petrova keeps a heated room open in winter, where hikers can come in, warm up and eat (their own) picnic. There is a coffee machine, a toilet, everything is very clean, cozy and friendly. Cake is served from time to time.
