Until my first trip up there, I only knew the Karwendelhaus from stories and postcards from friends and family. I have to say, it more than lived up to my expectations. When I got to the top, I was once again filled with the same awe of nature and the mountains that I had felt so often in my childhood. You suddenly feel so small in the face of all the giants around you. Places like this are why I am still passionate about mountain biking, hiking and winter mountain walks. It is places like this that mean home to me.
