The Weilburg Shipping Tunnel is the oldest and longest navigable ship tunnel in Germany. 1] It passes under a length of 195 meters the Mühlberg, on which the city Weilburg is located, from north to south, thus avoiding a two-kilometer-long arch of the Lahn with two weirs. The tunnel was built between 1844 and 1847 and today forms, together with the parallel road and rail tunnels, the so-called Weilburg tunnel ensemble.

    Mountain biking

In summer there is quite a lot going on when the whole canoeists want to go. Nice to watch.

Absolute highlight from 1847. If you have the opportunity to paddle through there, you should definitely do it. This is followed by the hand-operated lock.
