Realp FO station (Furka Base Tunnel Oberwald/Realp)
26 June 1982: Scheduled service begins through the Furka Base Tunnel. From now on, the route from Brig to Disentis is largely open to traffic even in winter.
Realp station is located at the loading station for the Furka car transport and in the immediate vicinity of the Urserental cross-country ski area.
The base tunnel replaces the old Furka mountain route with the Furka summit tunnel, the highest point of which is at an altitude of 2160 m above sea level (Furka stop).
