The slightly different cycling and hiking trail in Varel

The Varel landscape exploration trail is truly unique in Germany, because only here in Varel and Dangast do the four landscape types of geest, moor, marsh and mudflats come together.

The Varel landscape exploration trail connects these different landscape areas on a 50 km long cycling or hiking tour.

The landscape exploration trail is maintained on a voluntary basis by Varel residents for Varel residents.

Guests from near and far and of course Varel residents are welcome to explore the entire trail or parts of it by bike or on foot.

For a deeper understanding of the different landscape areas, there are eight stations where you can provide additional information, some of which also allow you to actively participate.
