Since the middle of the 18th century, the manor house in Blumberg (today Waldgut Blumberg) has been used as a residence for the owner family von der Osten and for economic tasks. Heinrich Karl II von der Osten had the manor house rebuilt in 1792.

After 1945 the house served as a headquarters for the Soviet occupation troops. Afterwards, refugees and resettlers were accommodated here. The estate itself was not divided as part of the land reform. It became a state property and later a state-owned property. In the years that followed, the house housed apartments, a factory kitchen, a kindergarten, a community office and a restaurant.

In 1992, the descendants of the von Osten family managed to reacquire the manor house with its courtyard and park.
