Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart (1739-1791) was a poet, organist, composer, and journalist, and a fierce critic of the political situation of his time. He was imprisoned for ten years in Hohenasperg by Duke Karl Eugen without trial.
The "Schubart Memorial" was created in 1983 by stone sculptor Thomas Lorenz from Bietigheim.
A floor slab is embedded in front of the memorial (see second picture).
