The current church in the late Baroque style was built in the years 1776-1783 by the then heirs of Sterdyń – general of the Crown Army Antoni Count Ossoliński (died May 20, 1776), starosta of Sulejów (ca. 1771-1776) and his son Stanisław z Tęczyn Count Ossoliński (died after 1824), starosta of Sulejów (1788-1795), as well as his wife (from 1786) Józefa née Morsztyn (died after 1807). The new church was consecrated on June 2, 1811 by priest Wojciech Leszczyc Skarszewski (died June 12, 1827), bishop of Lublin (1805-1824). In 1842, the temple underwent a thorough renovation, and in 1887, at the expense of the then owners of Sterdyń: Ludwik Górski, coat of arms Boża Wola (1818-1908) and his wife Paulina of the Krasiński family, coat of arms Ślepowron (1816-1893), two new towers were built in place of the old destroyed ones. They also founded the St. Paul Hospital in Sterdyń in 1854, which was additionally endowed by the local gentry with 20 beds in 1862.
