Hengchun is one of the few Taiwanese cities in which one can still visit an almost completely preserved city wall incl. City gates. The south gate also called Ming-Du Gate is the city's best preserved / restored gate. To integrate it into the modern road, a roundabout was built around the gate. So it is preserved in the original place. Unfortunately, you can only visit it from the outside. Unfortunately you can not go in there.
