Margilan is one of the oldest cities of Uzbekistan. It is located in the Fergana Valley at the crossroads of ancient trade routes. This city was famous for the best silk in Central Asia, able to compete in quality and beauty with Chinese. Caravans with Margilan silk went along the Silk Road to Kashgar, Baghdad, Khorasan.

You can get a guided tour to the process for about 3-6 USD. Factory is undergoing a renovation but you can still visit. Work should finish September 23
