In 1949 the Luftsportverein Holzminden e.V. was founded in the Gasthof zur Linde in Holzminden.
At that time only model making was allowed.
In 1951 the club moved to the glider airfield on the Ith in order to finally do man-carrying flights there.
A small group of model pilots began more intensively in 1969 with model flying and setting up their own group within LSV Holzminden e.V.
