The Crossbowman's Tower, later known as the Clothmaker's Tower, is the southernmost of the three defensive towers on Harteneck Street. It dates back to the 14th century and is part of the third fortification wall of the city of Sibiu. Its name comes from the keyhole-shaped loopholes on the first floor.

The tower has an octagonal plan and is made of stone masonry up to a height of 1 m, which continues with brick masonry further up. Five sides are located inside the fortress. The upper part of the tower protrudes and is supported on corbels, like most towers in Sibiu. The connecting arches of the corbels have throwing holes.

The tower had two patrol routes inside for maneuvers and guard during defensive wars.

It is believed that the current tower was created as a result of the conversion and raising of an older tower.
