The waterfall, originally named after the steep slopes of Niagara Point, was mistakenly identified as Niagara Falls on Pheasant Creek. This misidentification stuck, appearing in guidebooks and online sources. Winter and spring provide the best views, as water flow goes down during the summer and fall.
