Hiking
The actual castle was built in 1461 but demolished by Frederick the Great in 1764. Today, only the inner wall remains, which can be walked on.
The building pictured is the former Wittmund District Hospital. Since 1968, it has been an administrative building for the district.
Today, it houses, among other things, the emergency services and the vehicle registration office.
