A church already existed in 881 and when it was dilapidated, it became the 958
Abbey of St. Alban in Mainz as a gift and restored by its abbot. Around
Little is known about this church building, since the church files were destroyed by the fire
of a monastery of St.Alban Stift in Mainz were victims of the flames.
In 1525 the choir of the church was rebuilt from scratch. bigger
Renovation work was carried out in 1733. The condition of the building has always been the same since 1780
complained again. In 1812 the building of the church was demolished except for the tower and the preparatory work for the construction of the new church began.
The current round church was under the supervision of Johann Shrink from 1816 - 1819
Built to incorporate a Romanesque tower.
The municipalities of Lohrheim, Netzbach and Oberneisen financed the new building.
At the inauguration on Oct. 27, 1819 there was a large attendance of the
