Crossing in the upper part is "tolerated" from 2 hours after sunrise to 1 hour before sunset (signs next to barriers).
The southern part in particular allows you to drive through a higher valley with a beautiful view to the south.
I was here with a 35mm wide tire on my gravel bike and it was borderline at times due to the rocky, alpine terrain. I would recommend wider tires.
