The Camino del Calvario is the most direct route between the Navacerrada mountain pass and the town of Cercedilla. It begins next to the Parroquia del Puerto, opposite the Cercanías train station.
In its initial part, the path is a trail that runs along the Navalmedio valley following the course of the river of the same name. The valley is almost entirely covered by a Scots pine forest, which in its lower area alternates with oaks, birches and grass.
