The ferry service between Meerbusch-Langst and Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth, on which the Michaela II operates today, probably already existed in the Middle Ages. Since then, the connection for professional and tourist traffic has been steadily expanded. The current ferry Michaela II has been in service since 1993 and can accommodate up to 27 cars.
