Fulton County Jail is a historic jail in Johnstown. Originally called the Tryon County Jail, it was constructed between 1772-1773 and, at the time, was thought to be the strongest defensive positions in colonial America. During the revolutionary war, it was used as a fort. After the war, it went back to being used as a jail. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.
