Historical sources, in this case a "certificate of acceptance of use", date the construction of the building to 1904. At that time, the house belonged to Karl Winkler, a Berlin pensioner who played a key role in the settlement of Röntgental. That is why Winklerstrasse in Röntgental still bears his name today. The house, which was built as an inn, was purchased in 1912 by August Adomeit, who continued to run it under the name "Restaurant and Inn at the German Corner".
In 1920, the municipality bought the house because it needed a new home for its administration. In 1935, the main entrance was redesigned and the facade renovated. Until the municipal administration moved in 1995, it was based in the office building on Heinestrasse.
With the subsequent fundamental renovation, the more than 100-year-old house was given a new purpose. The ground floor now houses the branch of the Zepernick elementary school's day-care center. Other tenants include the Zepernick AWO, the history society, the local mayor, a physiotherapy practice, a midwifery practice and an English school. A plaque on the facade commemorates the work of the Zepernick Citizens' Committee, founded at the end of 1989.
