In the years 1972–1981, the Se-ma-for Studio of Small Film Forms created a television series using the cartoon animation technique. The first series of 13 episodes was titled The Strange World of Filemon the Cat. The second, 26-episode series was titled The Adventures of Filemon the Cat.
Individual episodes tell about the adventures of two cats - old, experienced Boniface, and Filemon - a small, naive cat, curious about the world. They both live in a country cottage with "Grandpa" and "Grandma".
