The monument was erected in 2006 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence.
The memorial consists of rusted and polish iron pillars, which converge in a wedge shape and grow to 8 metres from man's height. Located opposite Városligeti fasor, exactly on the site of Stalin's former post, it forms a 56-degree angle with Dózsa György út.
