Cycling
One of them is the Sventanastein, erected here in 1927. It commemorates the victory of the Obotrites, allied with Charlemagne, over the pagan Saxons in 798 and documents that the Schwentine rises near Bornhöved (= source head).
The place bore the Slavic name Sventana = holy land until around 1100.
The Limes Saxoniae also ran here, which was an unfortified border that separated the Frankish sphere of influence in Saxon northern Albingia from the area of the Slavic Abodrites from around 809.
