Garden Lane is the main path through the wonderful Winterthur Museum Gardens. The 60-acre historic garden has been carefully managed to preserve it as originally envisioned by Henry Francis du Pont and his close friend and landscape architect Marian Coffin. This is the manicured and carefully managed part of Winterthur’s 1,000 acres of rolling hills, meadows, woodlands, with over 25 miles of paths and trails. The gardens are a great spot to get some fresh air after visiting the museum or after wandering some of the more natural trails. General admission is $25, includes access to the museum and the grounds, and is good for two consecutive days, meaning that if you run out of time to explore the entire estate, you can come back the next day! There are free admission days, however, so keep an eye on their website for times when you can visit the beautiful gardens and grounds for free.
