The Owl Tower is the only part of the monastery church of St. Peter and Paul that has been preserved intact. It is 37 meters high, has six floors and is a landmark that towers over the entire monastery area. It was completed around 1120 and, together with the south tower that was demolished in the 18th century and the facade between the towers, formed the monumental end of the church.
The almost completely preserved frieze with depictions of people and animals is particularly worth seeing, although its pictorial meaning has not yet been fully clarified.
The tower once housed bells.

ROMANESQUE BELL TOWER
THE OWL TOWER
The so-called Owl Tower is the only part of the monastery church of St. Peter and Paul that has remained intact. This tower, together with the south tower and the facade built between the towers, formed the monumental western end of the Romanesque church.
